هدفت الدراسة الإحاطة بموضوع الجنس المقدس من خلال التصدي لجملة من القضايا والإشكالات التي بدت في نظرنا ضرورية وحاسمة في ذات الآن، كما هدفت إلى رصد التطورات التاريخية للأنكحة والممارسات الجنسية منذ مرحلة ما قبل الإسلام، معززين ذلك بحالات ونصوص من الثقافة العربية الإسلامية، ومتون بعض الأساطير، وما تتضمنه هاته النصوص من تصور حول الممارسة الجنسية. واعتمدنا في هذه الدراسة على مناهج مختلفة، وتبنت مقاربة تحليلية. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها أن الديانات السماوية أولت اهتماما بالغا للجنس، وأحاطته بهالة من القداسة عبر التاريخ. وجعلت منه طقسا يصل الإنسان الفاني بالكون اللامتناهي، وعبادة تتيح للفرد على المستوى الدنيوي تكرار ما قامت به القدرة الإلهية على المستوى المتعالي/المطلق.

Through this study, we aimed to address sacred sex by addressing a number of issues and problems that seemed to us necessary and decisive at the same time. The study aims to monitor the historical developments of marriage and sexual practices since the pre-Islamic stage, reinforced by cases and texts from the Arab-Islamic culture, the texts of some myths, and the conception of sexual practice contained in these texts. In this study, we relied on different approaches, and adopted an analytical approach. The study reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that the monotheistic religions paid great attention to sex, and surrounded it with an aura of holiness throughout history. And made it a ritual that connects the mortal to the infinite universe, and a worship that allows the individual on the earthly level to repeat what the divine power has done on the transcendent/absolute level.
