هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على الدور الذي تضطلع به جامعة الدول العربية في تسوية الأزمة السورية، وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي وكذلك المنهج التاريخي للاستشهاد بعدد من الأحداث التاريخية التي بذلت فيها الجامعة العربية جهودا في محاولة لإيجاد حلول سياسية للأزمة السورية. وتمثلت أهم نتائج الدراسة فيما يلي: أن جامعة الدول العربية لم تبذل جهد حقيقي في محاولة إيجاد حلول سياسية للأزمة السورية منذ اللحظات الأولى لبدء الاحتجاجات الشعبية في سورية، ولكنها بعد اندلاع الأزمة بستة أشهر أرسلت امينها العام. وتجسد دور جامعة الدول العربية في الازمة السورية بعدد من القرارات والمبادرات والبيانات، كان اهمها بيان ١٤٨لمجلس الجامعة العربية ولكن هذه القرارات لم تأخذ نصيبها في التنفيذ. وخرجت الدراسة بعدة توصيات أهمها: ضرورة تدخل جامعة الدول العربية لدى كلا من النظام السوري والمعارضة السورية من أجل محاولة التوفيق بينهم للخروج من هذه الأزمة.

This study aimed to identify the role played by the League of Arab States in settling the Syrian crisis. The study relied on the descriptive approach as well as the historical approach to cite a number of historical events in which the Arab League made efforts in an attempt to find political solutions to the Syrian crisis. The most important results of the study were as follows: The Arab League did not make a real effort to try to find political solutions to the Syrian crisis since the first moments of the start of the popular protests in Syria, but six months after the outbreak of the crisis it sent its Secretary-General. The role of the League of Arab States in the Syrian crisis was embodied by a number of decisions, initiatives and statements, the most important of which was Statement 148 of the Council of the Arab League, but these decisions did not take their share of implementation. The study came out with several recommendations, the most important of which are: The necessity of the Arab League to intervene with both the Syrian regime and the Syrian opposition in order to try to reconcile them to get out of this crisis.
